How To Hygge Your Home

Nordic design around the home has been huge news for the last couple of years. Identifiable by its back drop of minimalist white painted walls, monochrome pops of grey and jet black, and warming hints of copper and rose gold; we have truly embraced this simplistic Danish sense of style.

Then along came Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) - a trend that goes hand-in-hand with everything Nordic. If you’re a follower of social media and lifestyle blogs you’ll no doubt have seen it mentioned in abundance and whilst it appears to be coming to a bit of an end with the introduction of ‘lagom’ (something we’ll talk about another time soon), I think there should always be a little bit of space in your everyday life for some Hygge.

So what does it mean? Very simply it’s about creating a welcoming and cosy atmosphere in your home and taking time out to spend with your loved ones. Think hot chocolate and woolly socks with the family in front of a log fire for the ultimate scenario!
